Phillips Screwdriver, Key Ring, Bottle Opener, Paint Key and Flathead Screwdriver
THE STORY
Hello, I'm Erin Shawn Hawkins, creator of VONSHOQ.
As a Muralist, Decorative Painter and Custom Sign Artist, I found myself in precarious situations without the “right tool” way too often…such as, perched on the second to the last rung on a 20-foot straight ladder needing to unscrew a flathead screw and a cross-top screw in the same light fixture to paint around it...or, at the top of a 35-foot scaffold with 6 different paint cans that I wasn’t able to pop open with my car key or the coin that was in my pocket.
I then started carrying two different screwdrivers and a paint key stuffed in my pockets. They would jab my legs and poke holes in my pants as I climbed the rungs of the ladders or scaffolding, or squatted down to remove switch plates.
What's worse, these tools would get lost or “borrowed” on almost every jobsite. If they weren’t in my pocket, it was as if they had legs of their own. Oh, the time spent searching for them! And we all know, lost time is lost money.
I set out on a personal mission to find a magic tool that had all the components I required. It needed to fit easily into my pocket and, better yet, dwell on my keychain! I searched high and low to no avail.
Enter VONSHOQ: born of necessity.
Since this mythical tool didn’t exist, and I knew I needed it, it was up to me to create it.
The VONSHOQ multi-tool has a Phillips screwdriver on one end, and on the opposite end, a paint key opener which triples as a functional flathead screwdriver and light duty cutting device.
